The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey yesterday answered a question
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey yesterday answered a question with regard to the news reports that a key suspect of the bomb attacks in Bangkok had fled to Turkey. The unofficial translation of the Spokesperson’s reply is as follows:
“We have not officialy received a name and information from the authorities of Thailand concerning these reports. This morning our Embassy visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and conveyed a Note Verbale to the Thai authorities, asking whether such a statement was made. We are also carrying out the necessary investigation.
What matters is that the Thai authorities officialy convey the information regarding this person to the Turkish authorities. The necessary inquiry can take place after this information is conveyed. We are in contact with the Ambassador of Thailand in Ankara. I cannot say anything on whether this person entered Turkey, based on the news reports.”
